Artisan Roaster of Organic Fair Trade Coffees. We promote triple bottom line business practices and develop local, self sustaining cooperative businesses.
Our mission
Cooperatives directly address the economic and social problems that concern many progressive thinkers. For example, cooperatives mitigate income disparity because revenues are equitably distributed among members. This lessens the bifurcation of society brought about about by extreme income disparity as we have seen in the United States over the last few decades. Cooperatives promote equity by putting ownership of the means of production within reach of regular people willing to pool resources. Cooperatives promote democracy and accountability on the basis of one vote to each member rather than one vote to each share. Cooperatives are vastly more robust and prevalent than most people realize?if taken as a group they would represent the ninth largest economy in the world?we seek to change that.

How we select what we sell
We source our green beans from the best Organic, Fair Trade coffees grown around the world. Then to ensure a roast profile that suits each coffee's character, we spend time with each lot of coffee determining degree of roast. Under-roast and the resulting cup will taste sharp and sour. Over-roast and coffees of different origins lose their individual characters and become dull and burnt.
