Founder's story
A former attorney, our Founder began creating products to offer healthful, fresh alternatives to mass produced cosmetics in 2004 for private clients.
Our mission
To provide an alternative to mass-produced cosmetics with no synthetic chemicals such as parabens.
Our philosophy
Cosmetics should not be harmful or contain toxic ingredients. What is applied topically is just as important as what we ingest.
The types of products we sell
Linda Stein's Zosimos Botanicals handcrafts its exclusive line of green mineral makeup and skincare in a 100% wind-powered workshop. Products are handcrafted in small batches using gentle, plant-based raw materials.
Where the producers live and work
We live in Maryland, USA. The staffers are all women with school age children who work flexible schedules to accommodate their families.
Projects we support
Zosimos Botanicals annually supports the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary, which rescues abused farm animals. We currently support the Breat Cancer Fund in their research, Morgan State University in their RecycleMania challenge, and ACCESS Arab outreach in their community education seminars on the dangers of lead poisoning from traditional eye makeup.
How we select what we sell
Zosimos Botanicals contracts only vendor suppliers that use sustainable harvesting practices, grow pesticide-free plants, and produce Certified Organic ingredients. No animal testing is performed by them or their suppliers, a fact recognized by PETA through admission into its Caring Consumer Program.
What makes us unique
The entire product line is ranked by the Environmental Working Group as posing the lowest hazard in the Skin Deep Database.
