About Me
Hello, my name is Kyle Gay, and I live in Ghana, West Africa, although I am originally from Connecticut, USA. I am a strong activist for and advocate of fair trade, artisan development, and poverty reduction initiative, amongst many other related topics. I currently work for Ayindisa, llc - Socially Responsible Artisan Handcrafts (www.ayindisa.com) and I am the director of marketing. Ayindisa is a business that believes in acting like a NGO; we don't necessarily believe in making profits first and foremost, but as stated in our mission statement below want to help the world developed by giving individuals with unique talents the means to grow and promoting business with social objectives. We currently support about 20 artisans from Ghana whom make drums, baskets, handbags, woodcarvings (masks, rhino's, hippo's, elephant's, turtle's, nativity sets, etc.), cloth materials (aprons, table placemats, etc), jewelry, and much more.
My goals are to change the world, and to do so to the greatest extent possible. I have tried to do this by working with Habitat For Humanity (vie-president of a Ghanaian branch), Ascend Alliance in Ethiopia and Kenya, the Forever Young Foundation, Right To Play, Sankofa, Aids Awareness, Boy Scouts of America, amongst other organizations.
I am open to working with anyone, whether with an organization or by themselves.
