Inspired by Greg Mortenson's book, Three Cups of Tea, we're highlighting products and projects that are contributing to this mountainous region of the world.

Stones Building Schools
When you purchase our Onyx Stone carvings and candleholders from this region, you literally are taking home a piece of the breathtaking landscape of the mountainous Pakistan/Afghanistan border. 

You also have a daily reminder of how one purchase can make a difference in a region rocked by conflict, as over 100 families benefit from the employment of Dominion Traders.

Furthermore, through a series of fundraising events over the next couple of months, we will be donating a significant portion of the proceeds from the sale of onyx stone carvings to the Central Asia Institute, Mortenson's charitable organization that builds schools for girls in Pakistan and Afghanistan.  There is still time to sign up to host an event in which your organization can take part in a book discussion or onyx stone fundraising sale.  Please email us at abetterfootprint@gmail.com if your classroom or worship group would like to take part.

Blanket and Toy Drive
If you've read the book Three Cups of Tea, you are also aware of the harsh winters in this region of the world, and the extreme poverty in which many children live.  We're teaming up with some local organizations to host a drive for Afghanistan, inspired by one local GI's tour of duty and call to take action.  We're asking for new or very gently-used blankets, stuffed animals, and puzzles for children in Afghanistan.  Please drop off or mail donations to:    If you would like a receipt, please be sure to drop off donations during store hours.
